While we are a modern school that teaches martial arts suited to our modern lifestyle. We feel it is important for students to understand the roots of our method of instruction. There are other organizations, such as the Bujinkan of Budo-Taijutsu that teach the more classical interpretation of ninjutsu which will be of interest to those interested in the traditions and origins of this martial art. Ninjutsu is a broad and profound martial art.
In the modern era, we don't deal with roving bandits, or well-armored samurai. Luckily, the martial lessons learned over the centuries of development behind Ninjutsu teach universal lessons that echo on. Our school teaches modern applications of the timeless mental and physical art of Ninjutsu. We hope to carry on in the tradition of helping our students develop practical methods of self defense and personal development that will keep them safe and improve their lives.
The Hidden Door School: This multifaceted school is one of the older lineages, and features multiple aspects of the following schools with the addition of specialized tools.
Jeweled Tiger School: Related to Koto Ryu, this school added joint locks and throws of greater variety alongside circular attacks and koshijutsu (organ/pressure point attack techniques.) The Kihon Happo (8 Fundamentals), a mainstay of modern ninjutsu, is mostly derived from this school.
Nine Demon School: Considered a weaponry-oriented school, its origins remain mysterious. It can also be known as Happo Biken Jutsu, or the "Secret Sword" school.
Truth, Loyalty, & Justice School: This school was passed on primarily through oral tradition and is considered a school with elusive origins. Some kyusho (pressure points) and specialized footwork come from this tradition.
High Tree, Raised Heart School: Popularly known in the ninjutsu community as "The Bodyguard School" this school was developed over decades of influence from other ninjutsu schools and features a variety of throwing and grappling techniques.
Tiger Knocking Down School: This lineage developed primarily as a bone-breaking striking art that specialized in powerful, linear, direct attacks. It is closely related to its "sister school" Gyokko Ryu. These martial arts are broad and powerful.
Immoveable Heart School: This was heavily influenced by chinese boxing and primarily taught striking techniques while additionally featuring locks, throws, and stances (kamae).
Jeweled Heart School: This school features a lot of similarities with Gyokko Ryu and focused on free movement and espionage.
Hidden In the Clouds School: A sister school to Togakure Ryu, this school features specialized weapons training and techniques that served contextual needs during the feudal era.
